| • As soon as it begins to cool, begin planting trees and shrubs. Begin root pruning small trees and shrubs that you expect to move later this season. • Transplant magnolias now. • On evergreen shrubs, prune out long irregular shoots to shape. Perform no major pruning until early next spring. • If you have scales on camellias and holly, apply oil emulsion paying careful attention to undersides of leaves. Daytime temperatures should be below 85 degrees; night temperatures must be above 40 degrees. Systemics can be used at any temperature. |
